A Satisfying Week

After living with a generally much messier version of this for the last 4-6 weeks, I'm finally working on cleaning up.  Yesterday, I delivered stock to both Mash Handmade and Colfax for the holidays.  I switched out robots at Mash and brought my first-ever Bitty Bot Christmas Ornaments (very exciting!) and then changed out Steampunk jewelry in my case at Colfax . . . all without giving birth in one of their stores.  All in all, a very successful trip.

I also sent a bunch of Steampunk art and jewelry to Bella Luz in Wichita this week for their Steampunk Final Friday celebration tonight.

So I'm officially calling it.  The final frenzy of art-related production is at an end.

(Believe me, if you'd seen me trying to get up off the floor after working at that coffee table, you'd be celebrating, too.  It was NOT a pretty sight.)

This baby boy can now get out of my belly. Seriously. Get out.

I Hate My New Camera

So I broke my other camera a couple months back, and I thought I replaced it with the same model, just a little "sleeker."

Well, today's the first day I've really used it for my jewelry and robot pictures, and just about all my pictures sucked.  There's not nearly as many options for settings on this dumb thing, and I can't seem to get the close-up detail function to stay on.

My pictures are blurry and crappy.  I wasted about 40 minutes taking all of them, and now another 30 minutes trying to edit them.

This is almost as annoying as being 9 months pregnant.  Aaaaaargh.  (Yes, I'm now a pirate.)

That Time Again: A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

I was going to take pictures of some of the progress I've made with my jewelry stockpile and some new Bitty Bots, but that would require at least a minimal degree of effort.  So instead, I'm sharing pumpkin patch pictures this blog entry.

This was my little assistant's [insert booming voice] First Official School Pumpkin Patch Trip!  He's always just been the tag-along sibling on his brother's trips.

This epic adventure took place last Friday. You know, on that day that was an unseasonably warm 87 degrees with gale force winds. It complimented my 34 1/2 week pregnant body so well.  It also added an element of squinting to most Kodak moments.

He loves his pumpkin so much that he carries it around with him everywhere we go.  It comes in the car with us, it goes outside to play when he does, it even sits on the bookshelf in his bedroom at night.

Yesterday, he decided to paint the pumpkin.  Black.  I'm not entirely sure why, but the love affair has only intensified.  (And the go-to pose with the pumpkin has remained on top of the head.  It just doesn't get funnier than that, I suppose.)

If only we all had a black pumpkin in our lives.

Progress?

Yesterday and today, I actually spent time in my workshop.

(I know, it's a shock--but I'm depending on you to handle it with all the grace and ease I've come to expect from you.)

So, basically, I've cleared a little space at my workbench and begun working on a bunch of medium-to-small robots for the holidays.  I have three stores who want them; plus, my wonderful sister is going to man a booth (with my very talented friend) at Bizarre Bazaar in Lawrence this November.  So I've got to get busy on this before the baby claws his way out of my swollen, stretch-marked belly.

The current problem?

Ridiculously swollen hands that refuse to work properly.  What is this baby doing to me?!
