Summer Heat

While I survived the Overland Park show (drenched in sweat all morning and drenched by the thunderstorm in the afternoon), I don't know if I can continue to survive this heat wave!

-Now add in three boys screaming.- (I'm going to blame the oppresive heat for my kids' general crabbiness and limitless ability to fight. Their moods certainly do not do much for my creativity. )

The good news--the part I should focus on--is that my workshop is in the basement, which is the coolest place in the house.

So from this day forward, I vow to spend more time down there with loud, blaring music and less time intervening in loud, pointless arguments.

Art Show in Overland Park

Tomorrow, I brave the heat and "isolated" thunderstorms to be a part of Downtown Overland Park Day. I'm taking a good variety of robots (along with some new ones I made this week! Yea!) and some jewelry, of course.

The new twist will be that my mom is accompanying me rather than my sister. This should be interesting--I get a little testy at craft show days and really testy when I'm hot. My plan is to drink lots of Coke and eat as many Rice Krispy treats as possible. That should lift my spirits!

This Week's "To Do's"

This week I will:

- Get new, smaller robots to "Mash Handmade" to replenish their inventory.
- Exchange robots at "It's About Time" in Lawrence to create new interest.
- Prepare for Saturday's show in Overland Park before Friday evening at 9pm.
- Make at least one new robot.
- Find my creativity and passion again . . . I hope.
